Mehary Model AHEC of Tennessee

Meharry Medical College entered into a cooperative agreement with the US of Health and Human Services in 1984 that established the Meharry Model AHEC of Department Tennessee program. The Meharry Model AHEC of Tennessee program is an academic partnership between Meharry Medical College and community organizations in middle and west Tennessee that provides education and training to practicing health professionals, students interested in health careers professions, and community consumers. The Meharry Model AHEC of TN program delivers prevention and early intervention education on a variety of topics, including cardio vascular disease and stroke, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, cancer, fetal alcohol syndrome, STDs, injury, and mental health.
